RECORD NUMBER OF KERRY COMPETITORS ATTENDING WORLD SKILLS EVENT NEXT WEEK

 

Apprentices and Learners at KERRY ETB and KERRY COLLEGE are gearing up for a huge national event at the RDS next week.

World Skills Ireland is on at Dublin’s RDS Simmonscourt from Wed 20-Fri 22 September and will see 30,000 visitors across 3 days culminating with an awards event on Friday where the Gold Medal winners in each category will go forward to represent their country at World Skills 2024.

World Skills is considered as the Olympics of Skills.

The Irish event is a National Skills Competition. The goal is to choose the very best in each skills area to represent Ireland at the 47th WorldSkills competition at Lyon, France in 2024.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to hear inspiring real-live talks on the ‘Heroes Stage’, visit the careers zone, take part in competitions, try-a-skill/interactive areas, and get to view a wide range of demonstrations and exhibitors.

Kerry ETB are leading 3 competitions (Architectural Stonemasonry, Industry Automation and Beauty Therapy), and are also running a live TV studio at the event which includes a daily live broadcast with Radio Kerry’s Brendan Fuller.

World Skills Ireland is a partnership between enterprise, industry, education, training and government that raises the profile and recognition of skills and apprenticeships and prepares the talent of today for the careers of the future. 

Worldskills Ireland 2023 will inspire the next generation of skilled young people to follow their passions, interests and talents for the securement of their own future, and of Ireland’s. This is a unique opportunity for Teachers, Guidance Counsellors, parents and students to learn and experience all the different skill-based career options available in Ireland.
