Course Overview

In this course, learners will develop the skills to use the Internet safely and understand best practices for managing data and information. They will also learn about the critical importance of Cyber Security and how effective practices can protect organisations and individuals from cyber-attacks.

This course is due to run Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

What will I be studying?

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • - Understand the key concepts of IT security
  • - Recognise good practice in protecting computers, devices, and networks
  • - Understand the types of risk that pose a threat to security
  • - Know how to use the internet and communication channels securely
  • - Recognise good practice in secure data management

What are the entry requirements?

  • Learners must have reached 18 years of age.
  • Learners should have: A high level of Computer Literacy.
  • Capable of working on own initiative. Problem solving abilities and creativity. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience or an interest in using web-based learning systems is an advantage.

What is the Certification?

Cyber Security (ICDL) (ICDL-CS)
