Course Overview
Learners will explore motivation theories, recognise the different factors that influence motivation, and learn how to apply motivational strategies to improve individual and team performance.
This module is suitable for team leaders, supervisors, and managers who wish to develop their leadership effectiveness and enhance workplace performance through improved employee engagement and motivation.
This course is due to run Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
What are the entry requirements?
- Applicants must be at least 18 years.
- Must have achieved a minimum of a NFQ level 5 major award or its equivalent prior to entry to the programme, or have achieved the relevant skills, knowledge and competences through work experience.
- Good verbal and written command of the English language (Common European Framework B2 or equivalent).
- Participants must be currently employed, and must be or aspire to be, in a supervisory, team leader or middle management role.
- Applicants seeking entry to the programme must also be capable of completing the programme assessments.
- Nominated participants must meet the criteria outlined in the Target Participant Profile and Programme Entry Requirements above.
- Non EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland.

- Identify the factors that influence motivation within a team or organisational context.
- Apply motivational techniques to enhance engagement and productivity.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different motivational approaches in achieving business outcomes.
- Reflect on their own leadership style and how it impacts motivation and performance.
